ABOUT ORANGE COUNTY FC
OCFC earned a spot through a 3-0 victory over Santa Ana Winds FC in last week's first round. OCFC is coached by former USMNT player Paul Caliguri, who enjoyed playing spells with SV Meppen, FC St. Pauli, Columbus Crew and LA Galaxy. Caliguri also recently ran for the presidency of the US Soccer Federation. The election was won by Carlos Cordeiro on February 10. Orange County currently sit in 2nd place in the NPSL's Southwest Conference with their only loss in 2018, a 3-2 defeat to LA Galaxy, occurring during the preseason.
THIRD ROUND
The winner between Fresno FC and OCFC will advance to the USOC third round against the second-round winner between Phoenix Rising FC (USL) and Sporting AZ FC (UPSL). That third-round match will be played next week (May 22 or 23) in Arizona.

ABOUT THE USOC FIELD
94 teams will participate in the 2018 edition of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. Among the sides in the 105th installment of the competition are reigning champions Sporting Kansas City and 19 other Major League Soccer outfits. There are 22 teams from the officially recognized Division II United Soccer League (USL), including Charleston Battery, who, in 2008, became the last non-MLS team to reach the Final. Among the brigade of amateur combatants, Christos FC of Baltimore are back for a second straight time and hoping to match their run to the Fourth Round at #USOC2017, where they earned the chance to play D.C. United of Major League Soccer.
