INDEPENDENCE, MO - The Missouri Comets (4-0) are off to another undefeated season after earning their fourth win of the season against the St. Louis Ambush in the first of three meetings between both sides in front of a sellout crowd of 4,911 at the Silverstein Eye Centers Arena. Forward Max Toulote was named Borden Man of the Match with a hat trick totaling 10 goals in 4 games.
Missouri gets no rest as the team seeks to remain unbeaten as they travel to Hoffman Estates, IL to face the Chicago Mustangs (2-1) at the Sears Centre at 7:05 p.m. CT. The game will be streamed live on Go Live Sports Cast.
Coach Vlatko Andonovski's team has now increased their regular season winning streak to 29 games. The last time Missouri fell during the regular campaign was on February 9, 2015 against Baltimore in a match that ended with a final multipoint score of 18-4 in favor of the Blast.
Fans had to wait over nine minutes to get on their feet and celebrate a goal when team captain and team leader Vahid Assadpour scored his fourth tally of the season followed by Touloute's first of the night to end the quarter 2-0.
However, St. Louis held the Comets scoreless throughout the second stanza as well as getting on the board in the seventh minute when team leader Lucas Almeida shortened the lead assisted by Freddy Moojen ending the half 2-1 for the Comets.
Following the halftime break, the Comets came back to the field with an offensive mindset, which resulted in six goals coming from the boots of Ramone Palmer (2), Touloute, Kevin Ten Eyck, Brian Harris and Lucas Rodriguez as well as a goal from St. Louis' Moojen to enter the fourth and final quarter with a score of 8-2.
The final period saw Defender of the Year finalist John Sosa get on board with his third tally of the season before Kentaro Takada found the back of the net. Moments later, the Haitian Sensation beat goalkeeper Marcelo Moreira to complete his hat trick and end the match with a final score of 10-3.
The Comets return home on Friday, December 4 when they host longtime rival Milwaukee Wave in the first of three meetings this season.
