Mascot Tryouts for Shag and Primetime

(Nashua, NH, March 17, 2006) - Nashua Pride team officials announced today the 2006 team mascot tryouts will be held on Saturday, March 25th from 11am to 1pm at Historic Holman Stadium. Please remember to bring your resume, photo identification and proper work permits. The tryouts will be open to the public and you must be 18 years or older to be eligible for playing the role of one of the Pride's two mascots: Shag and Primetime.

The job's primary responsibility is providing entertainment as one of the team mascots at all 46 Pride home games. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: participating in on-field activities as the mascot; developing between-inning routines that involve comedy and dancing; presenting the mascot as a fun and active personality.

The minimum qualifications for the mascot job are as follows: 1. Must be 18 years or older; 2. Must be a minimum of 5ft. 9in. tall (for either mascot); 3. Must be a good dancer; 4. Has to be able to stand for long periods of time; 5. Must be able to run; 6. Must be able to demonstrate flexibility and balance.

Mascot applicants will perform an original 2-3 minute skit, and will be evaluated on the following elements:

- Theme

- Originality

- Use of props

- Character/Personality

- Impromptu

- Overall crowd appeal

The Nashua Pride, entering their first year of play in the Canadian American Association of Professional Baseball, play their home games at Historic Holman Stadium. Prior to joining the Can-Am League, the Pride played for eight seasons in the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball, winning the 2000 Atlantic League championship.
