Maryland GreenHawks Sign Guard Scooter Sherrill

Rockville, MD. - The Maryland GreenHawks announced today the signing of guard Shooter Sherrill.

"We are thrilled to be adding a player of the caliber and character of Scooter Sherrill," said General Manager Adam Dantus. "Scooter is a class guy who will bring veteran experience and leadership to our team."

Sherrill, a 6-foot-3, 185-pound guard was a McDonald's High School All-American in 2000 and played his collegiate ball at NC State. During his senior season, Sherrill averaged 10.4 points, 2.9 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game.

"I'm looking forward to advancing my career," said Sherrill. "I am very excited to be playing in the PBL for the GreenHawks."

Sherrill has also played with the CBA's Dakota Wizards, under GreenHawks head coach Rob Spon, as well as in Italy, Venezuela, Poland and Iceland. During last season, Sherrill averaged 28.5 points, 4 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.5 steals per game.

"I'm looking forward to getting the opportunity work with Scooter again," said GreenHawks Head Coach Rob Spon. "Scooter brings that defense intensity that we are looking for on our quality team."

Sherrill will wear jersey number 21.
