May 13, 2010 - Premier Basketball League (PBL)
Maryland GreenHawks News Release

ROCKVILLE, MD. The Premier Basketball League has announced that Maryland GreenHawks guard Scooter Sherrill has been named PBL Newcomer of the Year. This award is for the top first-year PBL player that has prior professional playing experience.

The voting panel consisted of the PBL's head coaches, GM's and select members of the media. Coaches and GM's were not permitted to vote for their own players.

"When we signed Scooter back before training camp, we knew he was a good player, being what he accomplished at NC State and overseas, but we didn't know he was going to be this good." said General Manager Adam Dantus. "At the end of the year, he's second in the league in scoring. The award is definitely well-deserved."

Sherrill finished second in the league in scoring at 21.0ppg while also averaging 4.5rpg, 4.4apg, 1.6spg and shooting a stellar 58.2 percent from the field. Sherrill surpassed the 20-point mark 11 times and the 30-point mark twice throughout the season.

The League will issue the rosters for its All-League teams, as well as its All-Rookie, All-Defensive and All-Playoff teams, very soon.

Below are the results for all of the individual PBL End of the Season Awards:
