
Anderson And Sherrill Named To 2010 PBL All-Star Team

ROCKVILLE, MD.The Premier Basketball League announced today that GreenHawks center Michael Anderson and guard Scooter Sherrill have been voted in by the fans to play on the 2010 PBL West All-Star team, and will represent Maryland at the 2010 Rogers PBL All-Star Game on Sunday, May 2nd in Halifax.
"I just want to thank all the fans of not just me but of the Maryland GreenHawks organization," said Anderson, the GreenHawks leading vote getter. "I look forward to participating in the All-Star game this year and I will do my best to make every last vote count."
"I am very excited to represent the GreenHawks organization in the PBL All-Star game," said Sherrill. "I owe it to the fans, without them; of course I would not have been selected. Also I want to thank my teammates."
"Scooter and Mike are playing at an extremely high level for us," said GreenHawks head coach Chad Warren. "They play with such passion and intensity and are an intricate part of our team. For them to make the All-Star team shows their hard work is paying off."
"Scooter and Mike have been very consistent on both ends of the floor," said GreenHawks general manager Adam Dantus. "They are not only All-Stars on the court, but they exhibit great leadership and character off the court. We are extremely proud that they will be representing our organization in Halifax."
Anderson, a 7-0 center from Lane College is leading the PBL in blocked shots per game. He is currently averaging 3.8 ppg, 6.6 rpg (13th in the PBL) and 3.0 bpg (1st in the PBL) while shooting 66.7% from the field (5th in the PBL). Anderson recorded a season-high nine blocked shots in a 112-108 victory over the Manchester Millrats on March 12th and had a three-game stretch where he recorded 20 blocked shots.
Sherrill, a 6-3 guard from NC State is one of two players in the PBL who is averaging at least 20 points, four rebounds and four assists per game. He is currently averaging 21.8 ppg (2nd in the PBL), 4.5 apg (10th in the PBL), 4.5 rpg, 1.7 spg (8th in the PBL) while shooting 57.8% from the field. Sherrill surpassed the 20 point mark 11 times and the 30 point mark twice. He has season highs of 33 points against Manchester on March 21st, 12 assists against Quebec on January 23rd and 10 rebounds against Vermont on March 20th.
