
Sherrill and Anderson Earn End of the Year League Awards

ROCKVILLE, MD... The Premier Basketball League has announced that Maryland GreenHawks guard Scooter Sherrill has been named to the 2010 PBL All-Second Team and center Michael Anderson has been named to the 2010 All-Third and All-Rookie Teams.
The voting panel consisted of the PBL's head coaches, GM's and select members of the media. Coaches and GM's were not permitted to vote for their own players.
Sherrill was joined by Rochester RazorSharks' guards Melvin Council and Jerice Crouch and Lawton-Fort Sil Cavalry's guard Brandon Dean and forward Tim Ellis to round up the PBL All-League Second Team.
Joining Anderson on the PBL All-League Third Team were Manchester Millrats guard Anthony Anderson, Quebec Keb's forward Samuel Audet-Sow, Rochester RazorSharks guard Keith Friel and Vermont Frost Heaves guard Dwuan Rice and on the PBL All-League Rookie Team were Vermont Frost Heaves center Jared Carter, Manchester Millrats guard Tyrece Gibbs, Halifax Rainmen guard Eric Gilchrese and Lawton-Fort Sill Cavalry forward Rashad Woods.
Sherrill finished second in the league in scoring at 21.0ppg while also averaging 4.5rpg, 4.4apg, 1.6spg and shooting a stellar 58.2 percent from the field. Sherrill surpassed the 20-point mark 11 times and the 30-point mark twice throughout the season.
"It's quite an honor to be named to an All-League team and represent the GreenHawks," said Sherrill. "I want to thank my teammates and the voters for making this possible. It's truly an honor."
Anderson finished the season leading the league in blocked shots at 3.0 per game including a season high nine blocks on March 12 against Manchester. Anderson also posted averages of 6.5rpg, 4.3ppg while shooting 64.1 percent from the field.
"At the beginning of the season if you asked me could I do all the things that I've accomplished this season, I would have told you there is no way," said Anderson. "Being selected in these categories is an honor and a privilege and I won't take them for granted."
