
Maryland GreenHawks Sign Forward Daniel Artest

Rockville, MD.The Maryland GreenHawks announced today the signing of forward Daniel Artest.
"We are very excited to have Daniel on our team," said General Manager Adam Dantus. "Daniel is a skilled big man that brings a lot of strength and energy to our frontcourt."
The 6-foot-5, 290-pound Artest averaged 12.6 points and 7.1 rebounds per game while shooting 54% from the floor during the 2008 Premier Basketball League season for the Rockford Fury.
"I am very grateful that Adam and Coach Spon has given me a chance to be a GreenHawk," said Artest. "I just want to work hard and win."
Artest, has also played professionally in Germany with the Saarlouis Royals where averaged 20 points and 13 rebounds as well with the Kentucky Colonels and Atlanta Vision.
"Daniel will be a huge asset to our team this year," said head coach Rob Spon. "Daniel brings us a big body and I'm excited to start working with him and developing him as a complete player."
Artest, the younger brother of NBA player Ron Artest, will wear jersey number 5.
