Jeff McGarry went 2-4, sparking the Pittsfield Suns (9-10) to a 5-1 victory over the Marthas Vineyard Sharks (10-9) on Thursday at Wahconah Park.
He singled in the fourth and fifth innings.
Jamin McCann had an impressive outing against the Marthas Vineyard Sharks' lineup. The Marthas Vineyard Sharks managed just one hit off of McCann, who allowed one earned run, walked four and struck out three during his seven innings of work.
A bright spot for the Marthas Vineyard Sharks in the defeat was Soren Hanson, who allowed only zero runs while striking out five.
Kyle Brenner was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just five innings, walked three, struck out none, and allowed five runs.
