Marte Tabbed with SL Hitter of the Week Honors

Mobile BayBears Professional Baseball, the AA affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks, announced today that RF Alfredo Marte has been named the Southern League Hitter of the Week for the week ending on June 10.
Marte, 23, lead the BayBears in four wins over the last seven days. Marte batted .556, going 10-for-18 at the plate. Seven of Marte's 10 hits were for extra bases. Adding to the offense, Marte drove in three runs and scored another seven.
Born in Santo Domingo, Distrito Nacional, DO, Marte Signed with the Diamondbacks as a non-drafted free agent on Dec. 12, 2005. Marte was named to the Southern League South Division 2012 All-Star team earlier in the week. With the selection, Marte is named to an All-Star team for the second time in his career. The BayBear outfielder was named to the MidWest mid-season team in 2009. Marte ranks second in the Southern League in 2012 with 13 home runs and 44 RBI.
