The Marshals News Release

Cincinnati , OH - The Cincinnati Marshals got off to a fast start and cruised to a 27-12 road win at Arkansas Saturday night to punch their ticket to the Atlantic Conference playoffs.

Marshals ownership was notified Sunday the win over Arkansas clinched a spot in the top six of the Atlantic Conference for the postseason. Cincinnati enters this week's game a half game behind Osceola for the fourth seed, and a home game, and are one game ahead of Montgomery and Charleston, but hold the tiebreak with both clubs.

Michael Larkin got the Marshals off to a fast start Saturday night by returning the opening kickoff 52-yards for a score. The return marked the fourth touchdown return of more than 50-yards for Larkin and his fifth return for a score on the season.

George Murray, making his second start at quarterback this year, scored on a 15-yard run before Daniel Breech booted a 35-yard field goal for a 17-0 lead after the first stanza. Cincinnati closed their scoring with a 26-yard field goal by Breech before the half for a 27-6 lead at the break.

Arkansas added one score in the second half, but the Marshals defense held the Stars to just 12 points, the second lowest total for points allowed in franchise history.

Murray improved to 2-0 as a starter at quarterback after starter Deontey Kenner was unable to make the trip. Murray also led the Marshals to a 34-24 win over Tennessee on the road earlier this year.
