Marlins and Steamers Rained Out

EDENTON N.C. - The game between the Morehead City Marlins and Edenton Steamers scheduled for June 22 has been rained out and the game will not be made up.

The game marked the last scheduled meeting between the two teams at Edenton this half of the season, and because of scheduling conflicts will not be made up. The Marlins and Steamers play a double-header in Morehead City on Sunday evening beginning at 6:05 p.m.

The Marlins are back home tomorrow night as they host the Petersburg Generals on Show Your Smile Night presented by Sanborn Orthodontics. First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m. as Matt Sutor has the live broadcast on CPL WebPass beginning approximately 10 minutes prior to first pitch.

The Morehead City Marlins are a proud member of the Coastal Plain League, the nation's hottest summer collegiate baseball league. Celebrating its 16th season in 2012, the CPL features 14 teams playing in North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia. The CPL gives college players the chance to refine their skills with the use of wooden bats. Players are housed with local host families for the summer and past experiences have been very positive for both players and hosts. Furthermore, the CPL has had over 930 alumni drafted and 51 alums make their Major League debut thus far.
