
Marlies Play Three Games This Weekend to Close out 2009-10 Regular Season

Bradenton, Fla. - The Bradenton Marauders today announced the team's first-pitch ball for Thursday's historical home opener will travel around Manatee County prior to the game. The ball will leave Pirate City on the Crewe of DeSoto Pirate Ship at 4:30 p.m. with the Marauders mascot and pick up local celebrities at each stop finishing the journey at McKechnie Field.
The mascot and celebrities will meet and greet fans at each scheduled stop and fans will have the opportunity to be a part of Marauders history. The first-pitch ball will be signed by the entire Marauders team, encased and displayed at future Marauders events. Below is timeline for the scheduled stops.
4:30 p.m. Pirate City
4:45 p.m. Mixon Farms
5:15 p.m. Cody's Steakhouse
5:45 p.m. Cork's Cigar Bar
6:15 p.m. City Hall
6:30 p.m. Ship arrives at Stadium
6:45 p.m. Mayor Poston exits the ship, carries the ball to the pitcher's mound and throws the first pitch
Opening Day for the Marauders Inaugural Season is Thursday, April 8, 2010 against the Ft. Myers Miracle. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. and gates open at 6:00 p.m. The team will celebrate Thirsty Thursday with select draft beers and fountain sodas for one dollar and a spectacular Fireworks show will follow sponsored by Gold Coast Eagle Distributing.
