Flying Tigers To Play Southeastern University In Exhibition Game

Lakeland, FL - The Lakeland Flying Tigers kick off the 2010 season at Joker Marchant Stadium on Wednesday, April 7 with an exhibition game against Southeastern University. First pitch is scheduled for 6:00 pm for the 7-inning contest. Gates to Joker Marchant Stadium will open at 5:00 pm.

All tickets are only $2.00 and parking is free. 2010 marks the 45th anniversary of Joker Marchant Stadium. It's also the 44th season Lakeland has been a Detroit Tigers affiliate as well as the 60th season Lakeland has been a member of the Florida State League (FSL).

The Flying Tigers travel to Tampa on April 8 to kick off the FSL season against the Yankees and return to Marchant Stadium on April 9 at 7:00 pm for the home opener.

The Flying Tigers will be holding a special happy hour from 5:30-7:00 pm sponsored by Bell's Beer. There will be free specialty beer sampling, giveaways, contests and prizes.

The first 1,500 fans that enter the ballpark will receive a free 2010 Flying Tigers magnet schedule sponsored by the Holiday Inn Lakeland Hotel & Conference Center. During the game fans will be entertained by BirdZerk, one of the wildest, craziest mascots in sports today. Following the game will be a spectacular fireworks display.

Tickets for opening day and all home games are available by calling the Tigers at (863) 686-8075. Box seats are $6 and reserved seats are $5 and seniors 55 and over and children 14 and under receive a $1.00 discount. Parking is free.
