San Antonio Stars News Release
SAN ANTONIO - San Antonio Silver Stars Chief Operating Officer Clarissa Davis-Wrightsil announced today that Silver Stars guard Marie Ferdinand has been placed on the injured list with a dislocated right elbow. At the same time the Silver Stars activated guard Tai Dillard from the injured list. She will be available to play in Friday's game vs. Los Angeles at the SBC Center at 7:00 p.m.
Ferdinand suffered a pesterolateral dislocation of the right elbow in the Silver Stars game at Los Angeles on July 2. The injury occurred at the 16:23 mark of the second half after she came down awkwardly attempting to block a shot. Ferdinand will be re-evaluated by Silver Stars' team doctors on Thursday. At this time there is no definite time table for her recovery. Ferdinand's return to play will be determined by her re-evaluation and how fast she responds to treatment.
For the season Ferdinand has appeared in 17 games and is currently the Silver Stars leading scorer averaging 11.7 points per game.
Dillard has spent the last 10 games on the injured list with a right hamstring strain. She has appeared in seven games this season averaging 5.6 minutes of action per game.
The Silver Stars are currently 5-12 and will return to action on July 9 when they host the Los Angles Sparks at 7:00 p.m. at the SBC Center. Fans can tune in and listen to all of the team's 2004 WNBA games on Clear Channel radio stations The Ticket 760 AM and KSJL 810 AM with Andrew Monaco calling the action.
