
Marco Delgado Called into U.S. U-18 National Team

CARSON, Calif. (Wednesday, November 14, 2012) - Chivas USA announced today that Marco "Marky" Delgado has been called into to the U.S. U-18 Men's National Team for its domestic training camp led by Head Coach Javier Perez. The camp will take place Nov. 17-24 in Carson, Calif.
The objective of the training camp will be to evaluate the development of potential players who could be selected to form part of the U-20 National Team. As part of the week-long camp, the U-18 squad will face the Canada U-18 Men's National Team on Wednesday, Nov. 21 and Friday, Nov. 23; both matches are slated to kick off at 3 p.m. PT.
Delgado, 17, a product of Chivas USA's youth academy, was signed by the Red-and-White organization on April 3 at the age of 16 and made his professional debut in MLS with the first team on Oct. 3 during Chivas USA's match against Vancouver Whitecaps FC in Canada.
Delgado, a five-foot- nine midfielder, is a native of Glendora, Calif. At the age of 13, as a member of the U.S. U-15 National Team, the midfielder participated in a tournament in Argentina. He also formed part of the U.S. U-17 National Team that traveled to Mondial Minimes, an international tournament in France. Delgado started all four games (against France, Japan, Portugal and Uruguay) playing 360 minutes and contributing an assist against the French side. Delgado was also a member of the U.S. U-17 Residency Program during the fall 2010 and spring 2011 semesters.
