WHEELING, WV- The Wheeling Nailers, proud ECHL affiliate of the Pittsburgh Penguins, have announced that March is Nailers Fight Cancer Month. The Nailers will be hosting events during the month, with proceeds benefiting two different organizations in their fights against cancer.
The first event is a Lip Sync Battle, which takes place on Wednesday, March 8th at River City Restaurant & Bar. Doors will open at 6:00, and the show will begin at 7:00. Members of the Nailers team will be participating in the Lip Sync Battle, and at night's end, one player will be crowned the grand champion. Admission for the evening is $20, which includes two drink tickets and appetizers, and the proceeds will go to the Team Ryan Charitable Foundation for Pediatric Research. Tickets may be purchased in advance through the Nailers office or River City.
Next up, on Saturday, March 11th, the Nailers will be celebrating the tenth anniversary of St. Baldrick's Day at WesBanco Arena. Wheeling faces Quad City that night at 7:05, but the event will begin at 3:00, when fans are invited to come and get their heads shaved. All fans who get their heads shaved will receive two tickets for the game. Donations will be accepted at the game, and all proceeds from the head shavings will go to the St Baldrick's Foundation.
Finally, the month will conclude on Saturday, March 25th with Nailers Fight Cancer Night. The Nailers will take the ice against the Idaho Steelheads at 7:05, wearing special jerseys. The jerseys will be auctioned off after the game, and all benefits from the jerseys will go to the Team Ryan Charitable Foundation.
