Seattle Seawolves News Release

I am pleased to report on our continued progress in the community, meeting new groups and schools, allowing us to connect and share the foundations of Rugby with kids from as young as 5 up to highschool ages.

Rugby 101

We started the month hosting a new group of attendees to a Rugby 101 session before our home opener against San Diego Legion. We love running these sessions allowing new fans to better understand what is happening on the pitch and helping them to stay connected to our organization and this unique and fast action sport we all love.

Inquire with Noah@seawolves.rugby if you would like to organize something similar for your group.

JBLM military base visit - Wednesday March 13

Our Seawolves front office staff and team manager met with Morale, Welfare and Recreation

at JBLM military base. The goal was to connect and grow the game of rugby on the base and to make a closer connection with their rugby community and those who serve and their families. We have many players in the PNW who have served in the military and the core values of camaraderie, brother/sisterhood, team work, commitment and warrior spirit are common values between the two. We hope to support more military families to come to games and look forward to partnering with JBLM on future events.

In attendance from Seawolves; Kevin Flynn, Seawolves Team Manager and Director of Rugby for Army Rugby Union, Noah Johnson, Manager of Ticket Sales, Jack Bonicatto, Business Operations and Community Liaison

Eastside Academy school - Tuesday 19th March

We were invited to run an introduction to rugby with Eastside Academy School. We're honored and hope to have inspired the next generation with the skills rugby teaches.

Granite Bay Rugby - Under 18s - Thursday 21st March

Seawolves Coaching team, Chris Latham, James Kimerrer and I had an invigorating session with 45+ players from Granite Bay Rugby high school teams. We started with some positional and individual skill work - including key triggers and takeaways for the kickers, a team focus on catch pass and decision making, along with technical practice around the tackle and breakdown. During our session, Granite Bay coaching staff were invited to watch and take notes for their own development and ability to leverage what we were teaching.

Starfire Youth Camps

We held two weekends of successful and energizing Youth Camps in partnership with Starfire and Rugby WA that saw many eager kids from 5yrs and up learn the basics of Rugby. It was heartening to see how much these regular soccer loving kids quickly fell in love with the catch-pass of rugby.

Wednesday, March 27 - Brook's Running Trivia Night

Wednesday, Seawolves players and fans had a blast on March 27 from 3-6PM. It was a great night of community, food and trivia.

Autograph Sessions

It has also been fantastic to see our non-rostered players meeting and greeting fans at the Team Shop at home matches, and also in attendance at the official away match viewing events, offering autographs and photo opportunities and sharing a story or two. If you haven't participated in this already - make sure you do at the next home match or by attending our official away match viewing party venue.

April is sure to be an exciting month for our community development as we partner with our sponsors and many nonprofits to spread awareness of our great organization and our love of Rugby.
