Marauders Win Game One over St. Lucie

Bradenton, FL- The Marauders took game one of the South Division Series against the St. Lucie Mets by a final of 11-6. The Marauders jumped all over Chris Flexen from the start. They opened the game with five straight singles, the last two being an RBI single by Jerrick Suiter and a two-run single by Chase Simpson to put Bradenton up 3-0. Later, Christian Kelley hit a two-run single with the bases loaded, and a run scored on a throwing error, all making it 6-0.

The Marauders sent 10 men to the plate in the inning. The Mets got on the board in the fifth inning. They scored three runs in the frame, getting RBI's from Patrick Biondi and David Thompson. But Bradenton responded in the top of the seventh. They scored five times, with three coming on a homer off the bat of Jordan Luplow. The Mets grabbed a pair in the bottom of the ninth to pull to within 11-6. Mitch Keller started for the Marauders and went 5.1 innings giving up 5 hits, 3 runs (all earned), and 3 walks with 8 strikeouts.
