
Marauders Take Game One of FSL Championship

Bradenton, FL- The Marauders took Game One of the Florida State League Championship Series Friday night against the Tampa Yankees by a final of 8-1. Connor Joe homered for the second-straight game to put Bradenton up 1-0 in the bottom of the second. Joe drove in the second Marauders run on a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the fourth to make it 2-0. Taylor Gushue added a solo homer of his own in the fifth inning that made it 3-0 Marauders. The Yankees got a run back on a solo homer by Kevin Cornelius in the seventh that made it 3-1. The Marauders responded with a run in the bottom half on an RBI single by Cole Tucker to extend their lead to 4-1. Jerrick Suiter gave Bradenton more insurance in the eighth with an RBI single. The Marauders added 4 runs in that frame. Bradenton got a great outing from Yeudy Garcia. The right-hander went 7 innings surrendering only 6 hits, 1 earned run, and no walks to go along with 6 strikeouts.
