Bradenton, FL - The Marauders (40-25, 72-63) received two home runs and three RBIs from CF Junior Sosa in a 4-2 win over the St. Lucie Mets (32-33, 62-63) on Thursday night at McKechnie Field. The win paired with a Palm Beach loss, leaving Bradenton just one game out of first place with three games remaining.

Bradenton opened the scoring against Scarlyn Reyes (L, 2-3) with three straight hits in the first inning. LF Justin Maffei doubled, Sosa singled to put men at the corners, and RF Harold Ramirez doubled to plate Maffei.

RHP Luis Heredia (W, 5-6) an early bout of wildness to battle through 5 2/3 innings. The righty did not allow a run as the Mets stranded nine runners over six innings and 13 men in all.

NOTES: The game began at 6:33 p.m. under partly cloudy skies, 92 degrees, and wind blowing 12 mph from left to right ... Junior Sosa homered in consecutive at-bats after not having homered since 6/13/12 with West Virginia ...
