July 17, 2006 - Florida State League (FSL1)
Brevard County Manatees News Release
The Manatees are on the road at Vero Beach tonight to end a five-game road trip. Last night the 'Tees opened the gas on the bats to kick the dog snot out of the Dodgers, 12-6.
If anybody is heading to tonight's game, head south to Vero Beach (exit on FL Highway 60). Head east until 43rd St, turn left and go north one block. Turn right at the traffic light and Dodgertown in on your right. Parking is a buck. Season ticket holders, as always in the Florida State League, you're in free with your season ticket holder card...thanks for buying a season ticket.
The Manatees begin a four-game home stand tomorrow against the Dunedin Blue Jays. The Jays are the only team the Manatees have not faced this season, home or away. here's the skinny:
7/18, TUE, vs. the Dunedin Blue Jays, 7:00 pm
SCCU's 2-4-2sday (2-4-1 on tickets, Hot Dogs, Popcorn, Medium Soft Drinks and 20 ounce Beers). It's also Via Tuscany Night #4...all Via Tuscany residents are admitted free of charge...Fans exiting the ballpark will receive a loaf of Sara Lee bread and coupons for savings off future purchases.
7/19, WED, vs. the Dunedin Blue Jays, 7:00 pm
Intern Olympics. Must-see promotion, unless the interns from some of our corporate friends refuse to play along, then we'll just play the Olympic Theme Song for the Manatees interns and keep the trophy in-house..
7/20, THU, vs. the Dunedin Blue Jays, 7:00 pm
Apollo 11 Anniversary and Harris Corporation Night #4. All Harris Corporation employees receive free General Admission tickets when presenting employee ID Badges at the ticket window. It's the 37th anniversary of our first manned moon landing. We'll have historical trivia all night long. It's also Thirst Aid Thursday...all 12 ounce draft beers and soft drinks are $1 all night long! Val-Pak Night...watch your mailbox for the Valpak blue envelope and receive four free tickets to the game! It's also post-game fireworks, co-sponsored by Harris Corporation and the Brevard County Manatees. It's also the United Way summer celebration. It's also Sara Lee Bread Giveaway Night #2...fans exiting the ballpark will receive a loaf of Sara Lee bread and coupons for savings off future purchases, and finally, we'll have Chris Kahl performing his song 'Rocket Boys' before the start of the fireworks show. Chris is a local signer/songwriter and Rocket Boys is a tribute to the US Space Program. We think once you hear it that you're going to want a copy of his CD. That's a lot of moving parts on Thursday night, with a unique start to the fireworks show as well. Don't miss it! Tickets are only $6.

Coca-Cola Banners (500) & Law & Order Night. Early arriving fans receive Manatees banners, courtesy of Coca-Cola and the legal profession will be on hand to chase ambulances, run down felons, sing the Cops theme song...you know, Bat Boys, Bat Boys, what'cha gonna do?
The Manatees have a new player: Pitcher Derek Miller has joined the team from the West Virginia Power. Making room on the roster was Pitcher Mark Rogers who was placed on the DL retro to July 5th.
