
Manatees Offense Comes Alive in 7-3 Win

Miami â Manatees newcomer Greg LeColst made a statement in his second game with the Manatees as he was one of two Manatees to score hat-tricks in a 7-3 win over the Alabama Slammers.
Getting the Manatees on the board just :57 seconds into the game, LeColst would go on to score two more goals and three assists to tie former Manatee Eric Perricone for points in a game with six.
Oak Hewer also scored three goals and two assists, matching his career-high five points with the Manatees, while linemate Kevin Swider added three assists of his own. Combined, the line of Hewer, Swider, and LeColst scored 14 points in the win.
Also getting a goal for the Manatees was Dan Donnette. Sean Weaver, making his first start against the Slammers, turned aside 30 of the 33 shots, while Fred Beaubien made 34 saves on 41 shots.
The victory was only the Manatees third win on the road, pulling them within four points of the third place Alabama Slammers. The Manatees head to Jacksonville Sunday night, face-off time is 6:05.
The Miami Manatees face off against the Alabama Slammers, Jacksonville Barracudas, Lakeland Loggerheads, Macon Trax, and Orlando Seals in the WHA2's inaugural season. All games are broadcast on www.irn.fm.
