Colorado Mammoth News Release
DENVER - The Colorado Mammoth has challenged the Rolling Mammoth wheelchair lacrosse team to a game this Monday, Apr. 11 at 7pm MDT at Rocky Mountain Roller Hockey (3606 S. Independence St. / Lakewood). How much of a challenge will it actually be for the Rolling Mammoth? Not much, if history is any indication.
"They crushed us last year, but it was still an incredible experience," said Mammoth captain Dan Coates. "I have such great admiration for the Rolling Mammoth, and to all those who participate in adaptive sports. They're tremendous athletes!"
Coates returns for a rematch, joined by teammates Callum Crawford, Ilija Gajic, Jordan Gilles, Eli McLaughlin, Josh Sullivan, Dillon Ward and Mike Woods.
The charitable event will raise funds for the Rolling Mammoth to purchase additional sports chairs, allowing for more adaptive sports athletes to compete. This year, the Rolling Mammoth has competed against the University of Denver Pioneers men's lacrosse team and the Valor Christian boys' lacrosse varsity squad. More than $7,000 has been raised at the two events.
Entry is free. Donations will be accepted at the door. A silent auction will feature several Mammoth hand-signed items.
