DENVER - The Colorado Mammoth announced today that the team has signed forward Adam Jones, the third-overall selection in the 2011 NLL Entry Draft, to a one-year contract.

"Adam has the ability to come in and be a game-changer right away," said Mammoth President & General Manager Steve Govett.

"This is exactly where I wanted to be," said Jones. "It's [an excellent] situation and I've heard great things about the organization and the fans, and the city of Denver in general."

Jones, the Mammoth's first pick in September's draft, was a two-time All-MAAC First Team performer in his four-year career at Canisius College in Buffalo, N.Y. The 5'11" left-hander, who won back-to-back Minto Cups (2008 & 2009) with the Orangeville Northmen, earned the Jim McConaghy Memorial Award in '09 as the playoffs' Most Outstanding Player.

In the summer of 2008, Jones won a silver medal with Team Canada in the Under-19 World Field Lacrosse Championships while playing on his home soil. He earned tournament Most Valuable Player and Top Midfielder honors and led all scorers in the championship game, scoring five goals against Team USA.

The Colorado Mammoth opens the 2012 season against the Minnesota Swarm on "Brian Langtry Night" on Saturday, January 14th at 7pm MST on HealthONE Field at Pepsi Center. Season seats are on sale now and start at just $72. Reserve your seats today at ColoradoMammoth.com or by calling 303.405.1101.
