Colorado Mammoth News Release

DENVER - The Colorado Mammoth announced today that veteran forward Dan Carey has been placed on the Physically Unable to Perform list. Carey has been dealing with lingering effects of a hit to the head sustained last summer while playing for the Peterborough Lakers of Major Series Lacrosse.

Carey missed 11 games during Colorado's 2009 season, but returned for the Mammoth's regular-season finale against the Edmonton Rush.

"We were excited by his return and his clean bill of health late last season," Mammoth president and general manager Steve Govett said. "Dan's injury over the summer is extremely disappointing."

In 48 career regular-season games with the Mammoth, Carey has scored 76 goals and recorded 125 assists. "We are hopeful of a speedy recovery for Dan," said Govett.

Colorado hosts the Minnesota Swarm at Pepsi Center this Friday, December 18 in preseason action. All tickets are just $10 for the game - set for 8pm. Fans are encouraged to arrive early and take part in the free, interactive, Mammoth Open House from 5pm-6:30pm on the team's home turf at Pepsi Center.

The Mammoth opens the 2010 regular season on the road against the Washington Stealth on January 9. The regular season home-opener is one week later as the Edmonton Rush comes to Pepsi Center on Saturday, January 16. Mammoth season tickets are on-sale now. Single game tickets for the Mammoth go on sale this Friday at 5pm.
