Mammoth First NLL Team to Join Twitter
April 3, 2009 - National Lacrosse League (NLL)
Colorado Mammoth News Release
DENVER - The Colorado Mammoth announced today that the team has joined Twitter and now has the means to instantly provide fans with all of the latest team news. Fans who follow the Mammoth on Twitter (Twitter account name is "MammothLax") will also receive exclusive and real-time insight from players, coaches, team officials and broadcasters beginning tonight as the Mammoth takes on the Rochester Knighthawks on BLACKOUT Night at Pepsi Center.
"Twitter itself is such a basic concept," says Mammoth president and general manager Steve Govett. "That said, it is a great platform for us to communicate directly with our fans and provide them with access and commentary they can't receive anywhere else. I, myself, will send out at least one message during tomorrow night's game."
The team has plans to offer its "followers" special incentives and unique opportunities that will be unveiled in the near future. Colorado is the first National Lacrosse League franchise to connect with its fans via Twitter.
Tickets for all Mammoth home games are on sale now at the Pepsi Center box office, all Ticketmaster retail centers, online at Ticketmaster.com and by phone at 303.830.TIXS or 719.520.9090.
