Mammoth and Sting to face off in Utah
October 19, 2006 - National Lacrosse League (NLL)
Colorado Mammoth News Release
DENVER - The National Lacrosse League will debut in the Salt Lake City area on Saturday, Dec. 16 when the Colorado Mammoth faces the Arizona Sting in the Utah Pro Lacrosse Showcase, a preseason exhibition game at 1 p.m. at the E Center in West Valley City, Utah.
The game will be the first professional lacrosse game ever played in Utah and will give the Mammoth and Sting a tune up for the upcoming 2007 season. The NLL rivals last faced each other in the 2006 West Division final, won by the Mammoth at Denver's Pepsi Center in April.
"We're really looking forward to showcasing our sport, the league and its great athletes to the fans in Utah," Mammoth general manager Steve Govett said. "It's a great opportunity for our team to jell in the preseason and for the NLL to showcase itself in a new market."
