Mammoth Allows Season-High 17 in Loss

Colorado Mammoth News Release
DULUTH, GA. - A Saskatchewan loss at New England on Friday opened the door for Colorado to establish a one-game lead in the West Division, but the Mammoth was unable to take advantage. Colorado allowed a season-high 17 goals to Georgia in the team's inaugural visit to The Peach State in a seven-goal defeat.
"It's really disappointing," said Colorado coach Pat Coyle. "I give them credit for their game-plan. I thought they did a good job trying to cut the middle and getting the ball in the middle. We knew that was coming and we didn't stick to our game-plan. We had a lot of passengers today, a lot of guys just standing and watching. When that happens, it's not going to go well for us."
On Sunday afternoon at Infinite Energy Arena, the Mammoth played its second-straight game without John Grant, Jr., Jeremy Noble and Dillon Ward. The Swarm was in high-gear offensively, outscoring the Mammoth, 11-3, in the second and third quarters combined.
Colorado's Adam Jones led all players with four goals, his last of which was the 100th power-play point of his career. Callum Crawford finished with one goal and seven assists, extending his NLL lead to 67 helpers this year. The total ties a Mammoth single-season record originally set by Gavin Prout in 2008.
The loss was Colorado's first of the season to an East Division opponent, dropping the team's record to 10-4 overall.
Next weekend's home-and-home with Saskatchewan (10-4) could have major playoff seeding implications as the teams are tied with Buffalo for the best record in the NLL. Colorado hosts Saskatchewan on Friday, Apr. 15 at 7:30pm MDT on HealthONE Field at Pepsi Center, and travels to Saskatoon for game two on Saturday. Tickets to the home game are available at ColoradoMammoth.com or by calling 303.405.1101.
