QUACK TRACKS
Last Week
The Mallards went 0-2-1 in three games against Denver last week.
Tight
The Mallards are in sixth place, two points behind fifth place Brampton and two points ahead of seventh place Tulsa. The Mallards have four games in hand on Brampton and three games in hand on Tulsa.
Magic Number
The Mallards' magic number for clinching a playoff berth is seven. Any combination of standings points earned by the Mallards or available points the ninth place Wichita Thunder fail to collect totaling seven will result in the Mallards locking up a postseason spot for the second year in a row.
Dip
With this week's trio of setbacks the Mallards have dropped to 2-5-1 in their last eight games and 4-9-1 in their last 14 games.
On the Road
The Mallards have gone 0-2-1 in their last three road games and 1-4-1 in their last six away tilts.
Home Sweet Home
The Mallards went 3-4-0 over the seven game homestand- their longest of the season- that ended with last Wednesday's loss to Denver.
Six Shooter
The Mallards allowed six goals in each of their last two games- the first time this season they have given up a half dozen goals in consecutive contests.
Busy
The Mallards tonight in Rapid City kick off a stretch of five games in seven days, play the fourth of eight games in twelve days and the twenty-third in a stretch that sees them play 31 games over the final 59 days of the regular season.
Rough Road
The Mallards are also in the midst of a stretch that sees them play 18 of their final 30 games against the top four teams in the CHL- Missouri, Rapid City, Denver and Allen. Tonight's game is the fourth straight a member of that quartet.
Shootout
Last Saturday night's defeat left the Mallards 2-6 in the shootout this season and 3-9 in games settled in overtime or the shootout.
Streaking
Jeff Lee (21-34-54) is on a seven game point scoring streak (3-9-12) and has piled up 27 points (eight goals and 19 assists) in his last 19 games. Mike Stinziani is on a five game point scoring streak (2-6-8).
Between the Pipes
Ty Rimmer's four-game winning streak ended when he gave up six goals and made 18 saves over 40 minutes in last Friday's 6-3 loss in Denver. Thomas Heemskerk made 39 saves in last Saturday's shootout loss and ended a personal seven-game regulation losing streak.
Leaders
Rimmer is tied for third in the CHL shutouts (3), ranks seventh in save percentage (.907), is tied for seventh in wins (17) and is tied for seventh in goals against average (2.88) with Heemskerk, who is tied for fifth in shutouts (2) and tied for ninth in save percentage (.903)...Gergo Nagy and Thomas Frazee are tied for second in shorthanded goals (3) while, among rookies, Frazee ranks fourth in goals (19) and points (38) and is tied for seventh in assists (19)... Among defensemen, Benjamin Dieude-Fauvel is tied for fifth in goals (11), ranks sixth in assists (26) and ranks seventh in points (37)...Matt Duffy is tied for eighth among defensemen in goals (9)...Nicholas Rioux is tied for ninth in assists (23) and tenth in points (28) among defensemen
Special Teams
The Mallards rank ninth in the CHL on the man advantage (14.4 percent) and fifth in penalty killing (83.3 percent). The Mallards have scored shorthanded three times in their last five games to move into a tie for the league lead in shorthanded goals (10).
Head to Head
Tonight's game is the final meeting of the season between the Mallards and Rush. The Mallards have gone 3-2-0 against the Rush this season and 1-1-0 in Rapid City. The Mallards have gone 12-8-1 all-time against the Rush and 5-4-1 in Rapid City. The Rush's Konrad Reeder (3-3-6) is the top point scorer in the season series, just ahead of the Mallards' Gabriel Levesque (2-3-5) and Gergo Nagy (2-3-5)...The Mallards have gone 8-2-1 overall against the Chill this season and 5-1-0 on home ice. Lee is the top point producer (4-8-12) in the season series...The Mallards this season have gone 1-4-1 against the Mavericks and 0-2-1 at the Independence Events Center. Since entering the CHL in 2010, the Mallards have gone 15-16-3 against the Mavericks and have posted a record of 6-8-2 at home and 9-8-1 on the road against the Mavs. Lee (2-6-8) and Eric Castonguay (4-4-8) are the top two point scorers in the season series.
Ins and Outs
Forward Mike Hellyer is on 30-day injured reserve (upper body) and has missed the last 13 games.

The box office is open weekdays from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and on game days from 10:00 a.m. until the start of the second period.
