Last Weekend

The Mallards split a pair of games last weekend. They came from behind to beat the Tulsa Oilers at home last Friday. One night later they fell in Missouri.

Streak Snapped

The Mallards suffered a regulation loss last Saturday after going 3-0-1 in their prior four games,

Tight

The Mallards are just one point behind the fifth place Brampton Beast, on whom they have seven games in hand.

Playing the Percentages

The Mallards, who have played fewer games (37) than any other CHL club, have the league's fourth best winning percentage (.622).

Drought

The Mallards totaled just three goals in their two games last weekend, have scored three or fewer in each of their last four games and in seven of their last eight. While the Mallards remain in the top half of the league in goal scoring (fifth at 3.3 goals per game), no Mallard ranks in the top 28 in the CHL in point scoring.

Home Sweet Home

Last Friday's victory ended the Mallards' four-game home (0-2-2) winless streak.

Between the Pipes

Before getting called-up to the American Hockey League's Abbotsford Heat today, goaltender Thomas Heemskerk made 27 saves last Friday while extending his regulation unbeaten streak to 10 to extend his personal regulation unbeaten streak to six games (5-0-1, 1.48, .947, 2 SO). With Heemskerk having spent much of the last month in the AHL, Ty Rimmer has now started six of the Mallards' last seven games.

Streak Snapped, Take 2

Jeff Lee (2-4-6) saw his five game point scoring streak snapped last Saturday.

Leaders

Lee is tied for tenth in +/- (+15)...Mike Hellyer is tied for fourth in game winning goals (5)...Among rookies, Frazee is tied for third in points (24) and assists (15) and ranks fifth in goals (9)...Thomas Heemskerk ranks second in goals against average (2.45) and save percentage (.920)...Rimmer ranks eighth in goals against average (2.82) and save percentage (.910).

Milestones

Darren McMillan has collected 98 career CHL assists.

Special Teams

While the Mallards rank last in the CHL in power play efficiency (11.1 percent). The Mallards have gone 16-for-17 on the penalty kill in their last five games. The Mallards rank sixth in penalty killing (82.8 percent) and third in shorthanded goals (6).

Head to Head

Wednesday night's game is the first this season between the Mallards and Americans. The Mallards went 0-2-1 in three games against Allen last season- 0-1-1 at home and 0-1-0 on the road. All-time, the Mallards have posted a record of 1-3-1 against the Amereicans. The Mallards have gone 1-2-0 at the iWireless Center and 0-1-1 away from home home...The Mallards have gone 6-2-1 against expansion St. Charles: 4-1-0 at home and 2-1-1 at Family Arena. Vladimir Nikiforov is the top point scorer (3-7-10) in the season series.

Ins and Outs

Heemskerk today signed a professional tryout agreement with Abbotsford. The AHL call-up is his fourth (Iowa twice, Worcester once) this season.

Wednesday's game is a Winning Wednesday presented by T.G.I. Friday's. If the Mallards win next Wednesday, each fan in attendance will receive a free ticket to the Mallards' next Wednesday home game courtesy of T.G.I. Friday's.
