QUACK TRACKS

Up and Down

Last Wednesday's 5-0 loss in Forth Worth marked the first time this season the Mallards had been shutout and also dropped Quad City below .500 for the first time this year. The Mallards rebounded with a shutout of their own- a 2-0 whitewashing of the Mavericks in Missouri last Friday. One night later the Mavericks earned a split of their weekend home-and-home series with the Mallards by winning 3-1 at the i wireless Center.

Blanked

Jimmy Spratt made 26 saves while shutting out Missouri last Friday. The Mallards had gone more than a full season since last shutting out the opposition when David Brown blanked Evansville 5-0 on March 11, 2011. Last weekend's shutout was the second of third-year netminder Spratt's career.

All Timer

Mallards coach and general manager Terry Ruskowski moved into third place in Central Hockey League history in games coached last Friday in Missouri as he stepped behind the bench for his six hundred fifty-seventh CHL game. With last Friday's victory over the Mavericks, Ruskowski (392-210-66), who is in his first season with the Mallards, moved within eight wins of the 400-victory plateau in the CHL.

Winning!

Obi Aduba last Friday scored his fourth game winning goal of the season and is now tied for the league lead in game winners with Wichita's Matt Summers.

On the Road

The Mallards last Friday finished a stretch that saw them play seven of nine games on the road with a victory that halted a five-game away winless streak (0-4-1). This Saturday's game kicks off a run of six consecutive road contests for the Mallards. By the time the Mallards return to the Quad Cities after visiting the Rapid City Rush December 14 and 15, the Flock will have played 13 road games and just four home contests over a period that began November 16.

Saturday Night Fever

With last Saturday's loss, the Mallards dropped to 1-5-0 on Saturdays this season. The Mallards have gone 6-3-3 on all other days.

Power Outage

The Mallards remain last in the CHL on the power play (6.3 percent). Quad City has gone 4-for-64 on the man advantage this season and is 0-for-24 over its last eight-plus games and 1-for-37 over its last 11 games.

Shorthanded

The Mallards lead the league in shorthanded goals (4). The Mallards have scored as many times shorthanded as they have on the power play this season. Quad City ranks fifth in penalty killing (83.3 percent).

Milestones

Captain Darren McMillan last Saturday played his one hundred fiftieth consecutive game for the Mallards ...Brett Robinson is three points away from 100 for his career.

Head-to-Head

The Mallards and Mavericks last weekend split what were their first two meetings of the season. The Mallards this weekend complete a stretch of four straight games against the Mavericks. In all, the Mallards and Mavs will get together a total of 13 times this season. The Mallards have gone 8-7-2 all-time against the Mavericks ...The Mallards have gone 2-1-0 against Wichita this season and have split a pair of games at Intrust Bank Arena. The Mallards' November 16 3-1 road win over the Thunder was Quad City's first ever victory in Wichita- the Mallards had lost their first four away games against the Thunder after entering the CHL in 2010.

Ins and Outs

Forwards Cory McGillis (concussion) and Jason Kostadine (lower body injury) are on 14-day injured reserve.

Family Resources Teddy Bear Toss Presented by Mix 96 and WOC Newstalk 1420

Fans are encouraged to bring new stuffed animals to Friday night's game and toss them onto the ice after the Mallards' first goal of that contest. The teddy bears will then be collected from the ice and distributed to children in need in the Quad Cities area by Family Resources.

Single Game Tickets

Single game tickets for all Mallards regular season contests are now available. The box office is open weekdays from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and on game days from 10:00 a.m. until the start of the second period. Individual

game tickets are available for $13 in the upper level, $18 in the lower level and $25 for the first row along the glass for adults. Tickets for kids 12 and under are available for $5 off adult rates.

Groups of at least ten can receive savings off the walk-up price and a host of other great group benefits.
