Quad City Mallards News Release
MOLINE, Ill. (February 9, 2012) - The Quad City Mallards of the Central Hockey League have partnered with the Genesis Health Services Foundationfor Genesis Heart Night this Saturday evening when the Mallards take on the Arizona Sundogs at 7:05 p.m. at the i wireless Center.
The Mallards will wear special limited edition Genesis Heart Night jerseys when the Flock meets the Sundogs Saturday night. Those jerseys will go up for bid in a live auction immediately following the game with proceeds going to the Genesis Foundation to benefit cardiac care at the Genesis Heart Institute.
"We're thrilled to have the chance to once again work with Genesis on behalf of such a vital cause," said Mallards Executive Vice President Ryan Simmons. "The opportunity to take part in fund- and awareness-raising efforts such as Genesis Heart Night is an integral part of our partnership with Genesis."
Over the last 17 years Mallards jersey auctions have raised better than $600,000 to benefit Genesis charities.
"The Mallards and their fans have been great partners with Genesis over the years,'' said Genesis Health System Vice President of Corporate Communications and Marketing Ken Croken. "The funds raised from the jersey auction will allow Genesis to raise awareness about heart disease and continue research efforts giving our patients access to the latest treatment options.''
The Genesis Heart Institute provides compassionate, quality patient services that meet the cardiovascular needs of the eastern Iowa and western Illinois regions. The Institute is a multidisciplinary association of cardiologists, cardiac surgeons and vascular surgeons who collaborate on the best approaches to managing and treating cardiovascular disease.
