
Mallards Sign Pair of Aggies

Madison, WI - The Mallards have signed a pair from North Carolina A&T State to join the roster in 2019. Catcher, Ryne Stanley (Highpoint, NC) and pitcher, Ethan Chavis (Pembroke, NC) will be headed to the Duck Pond this summer.
Stanley, a 6-foot redshirt junior, is the starting catcher for the Aggies. Last season, Stanley hit a .210 average, driving in 11 runs, and crossing the plate 14 times. With a momentous 2019 start, Stanley has 14 hits and 10 runs, and has driven in eight. Stanley has been consistent at getting on the base paths, ranking fifth on the team with a .347 on-base percentage.
Chavis, a 6-foot southpaw pitcher, is entering his sophomore season. Starting six of his 12 appearances in 2018, Chavis pitched 26 innings and struck out 16, with a .333 opponent batting average. Chavis has a 3.19 ERA with only nine walks to go along with 21 strikeouts, in 2019, with six starts this season.
North Carolina A&T State looks to keep their impressive conference play going in their next contest on Friday versus Savannah State.
The Mallards open the 2019 campaign on May 28 against newcomers to the Northwoods League, the Kokomo Jackrabbits. Single game tickets will go on sale April 27.
