Quad City Mallards News Release

MOLINE, Ill. - When the Quad City Mallards open their twentieth season Friday night at 7:05 p.m. against the Fort Wayne Komets at the iWireless Center, the evening will feature an array of special promotions, including $2 hot dogs and beers, a Mallards schedule poster giveaway and a postgame fireworks display.

The first 1,000 fans through the doors Friday evening will receive free Mallards poster schedules presented by Stoney Creek Inn.

The opener is also the Mallards' first $2 Dog/$2 Beer Friday presented by 97X. Mallards fans can enjoy hot dogs and beers from iWireless Center concession stands for just $2 not only this Friday but during all Mallards Friday home games throughout the season.

On the ice, the Mallards will kick off their twentieth campaign by donning throwback jerseys first worn by the team during the inaugural 1995-96 campaign. Those sweaters feature the original forest green, burgundy, black and gold Mallard color scheme and Mallard-head-and-hockey-stick logo.

Friday night's explosive hockey action will be followed by a postgame fireworks display outside the iWireless Center. After the fireworks, fans can head to Blackwater Jack's Saloon at Stoney Creek Inn in downtown Moline for a postgame party at which Mallards players and the Mallards' Ice Girls will be among the guests.

The Mallards have once again this season partnered with Metro to provide transit service between Augustana College and downtown Moline during all Friday home games, including opening night. As part of Metro's unlimited ride program, Augustana riders can use their Augustana ID as their fare.

The opener will be the first of a series of Mallards home games that will benefit Quad Cities area non-profit organizations. The opening night beneficiary will be Gigi's Playhouse, a one-of-a-kind achievement center for individuals with Down syndrome, their families, and the community. A portion of the proceeds from tickets for the opener purchased at the Mallards' business office or at Gigi's Playhouse in Moline will be donated to the Playhouse.

Single game tickets for all regular season home games- including the opener- are now available.
