Mallards' Game Time Sunday Shifted to 5:30 P.M. to Follow Olympic Gold Medal Game

PORT HURON, Mich. (February 26, 2010) - The Quad City Mallards, proud International Hockey League (IHL) affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers, today announced that the start time of the Mallards' game Sunday, February 28, against the Bloomington PrairieThunder at the i wireless Center has been changed to 5:30 p.m. to accommodate the Olympic men's hockey gold medal game featuring the the United States earlier in the afternoon and that the Quad City Sports Commission has teamed with the Mallards to make walkup tickets to the Mallards' game available for just $1 if Team USA wins gold Sunday afternoon. If the U.S. team wins silver, walkup tickets will be available for $2.

The Mallards and PrairieThunder were originally scheduled to face off at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, but with the U.S. set to take on the winner of tonight's game between Canada and Slovakia at 2:15 p.m. Sunday, the start time of the Flock's game has been pushed back. However, the i wireless Center will open its doors at 2:00 p.m. Sunday so that fans will be able to watch the gold medal game live on the giant screen before the the Mallards' game.

"We're happy to be able to accommodate the fans of the Quad Cities by moving our start time back and also give fans the chance to enjoy the gold medal game in an arena setting on the big screen," said Mallards Executive Vice President and General Manager Shawn Hackman. "We're also thrilled that the Quad City Sports Commission has made it possible for us to make this special ticket offer Sunday in recognition of Team U.S.A.'s Olympic achievement."

The Mallards will visit the Port Huron Icehawks tonight and the Dayton Gems Saturday evening before returning to action at home Sunday. Hot dogs will be available for just $1.50 at i wireless Center concession stands during Sunday's game. Sunday is also another Family Skate Night- fans can bring their skates and join the Mallards on the ice after the game.

Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., on Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and on game days from 10:00 a.m. through the end of the second period.
