Mallards Debut Black Jersey Tomorrow Night in Bloomington

October 27, 2011 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
Quad City Mallards News Release

MOLINE, Ill. (October 27, 2011) - The Quad City Mallards of the "AA" Central Hockey League today announced the team will debut its new-look black jerseys tomorrow night when the Mallards visit the Bloomington Blaze and that one lucky member of the Mallards' Drake Club will win one of those new black sweaters autographed by the entire team.

The Mallards' black sweaters feature the Flock's revamped logo and color scheme and parallel the design of the white jerseys the Mallards wore for the first time in last Saturday's season opener against Rapid City. The Mallards will wear the black jerseys when playing on the road during the first half of the season. The Flock will wear black at home for the first time when it hosts the Fort Wayne Komets on "Black Friday"- Friday, November 25. The Mallards will don black for all home games in the second half of the season, beginning with a January 13 match-up with Dayton at the i wireless Center.

The autographed authentic black uniform jersey will be awarded to one Drake Club member at the end of the season via a random drawing. That jersey will be on display in the Drake Club throughout the campaign until it is given away. The Drake Club, a V.I.P. area located on the i wireless Center's north patio, provides a unique vantage point from which to watch Mallards action and features a private bar, flat screen televisions and an exclusive ambiance.

"We've already received a very positive response to our new white jerseys, so we are quite excited about debuting our black jerseys tomorrow night," said Mallards vice president of sales and marketing Brad Hoffman. "We're also very happy to be able to offer our Drake Club members the chance to win one of those black jerseys signed by the entire team."

Fans interested in becoming Drake Club members can contact the Mallards at (309) 277-1364 or info@myqcmallards.com for more information. Drake Club members receive an array of benefits including in-game visits from inactive Mallard players and exclusive access to postgame media conferences.

The Mallards next play at home on Friday, November 4 at 7:05 p.m. against the Dayton Gems. November 4 will be Veterans Appreciation Night as the Mallards honor those who have served in the armed forces in what will be the Flock's final home game before Veterans' Day. The same evening will also see the Mallards hold their annual teddy bear toss. Fans who bring a new, unwrapped stuffed animal to the November 4 game can toss it onto the ice after the Mallards' first goal in that tilt. Those teddy bears will then be donated to the Quad City Festival of Trees and used to assemble the "Zoo Tree." Festival of Trees will, in turn, donate the teddy bears to children in need. The first 1,000 fans through the doors who bring stuffed animals to the game will receive free Mallards teddy bears in exchange.

Single game tickets for all of the Mallards' regular season contests- including the November 4 game- are now available. Fans can contact the Mallards at (309) 277-1364 or tickets@myqcmallards.com for more information about both season and single game tickets.

Single game tickets are also available at the i wireless Center box office, at Ticketmaster outlets, through www.ticketmaster.com or through Ticketmaster charge-by-phone toll free. The box office is open weekdays from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and on game days from 10:00 a.m. until the start of the second period. Individual game tickets are available for $12 in the upper level and $17 in the lower level.
