Mallards Complete Trade with RiverDogs

Moline, IL- Quad City Mallards Head Coach and General Manager Brian Curran announced today that the team has added forwards J.J. Wrobel and Rafal Martynowski from the Richmond RiverDogs in exchange for forwards Evgeny Lazarev and Cody Doucette. The Mallards also receive future considerations as a part of the trade.

Wrobel is a sixth-year pro with 334 games played. He has 94 career goals with 135 assists for 229 points. This season, Wrobel appeared in 26 games for the RiverDogs scoring five goals with 13 assists for 18 points. During his three year Richmond career, Wrobel recorded 97 points (40 goals and 57 assists) and leaves the organization tied for third on the RiverDogs All-Time Scoring List.

Martynowski is a rookie forward that has 13 points (seven goals and six assists) during his first 30 pro games. During his final season of junior hockey, he led the Ontario Hockey League's Sudbury Wolves in scoring with 67 points. He tied for the team lead in goals (31) and assists (36). During his four-year junior career, the Maple, Ontario native recorded 181 points (84 goals and 97 assists).

Lazarev joins the RiverDogs after appearing in 31 games as a Mallard. He recorded 11 goals and 15 assists for 26 points during his time in the Quad City. Doucette was held scoreless in 16 games as a Mallard and record 45 penalty minutes.

The Mallards are in Rockford on Friday night for a showdown with the Hogs. Game time is 7:00 p.m. with the Maroon Mortgage Pre-Game Show beginning at 6:35 p.m. During the intermissions, stay tuned for the Swiss Valley Farms Intermission Report. After the game, the Allstate Insurance Christy Cox Post-Game Show is on the air.

The team returns home on Sunday, January 8th for a 1:00 p.m. game vs. the Hogs. It's the third meeting between the Mallards and Hogs this week.
