
Mallards Add Pair in Waiver Draft

Moline, IL- Quad City Mallards Head Coach and General Manager Brian Curran announced today that the team has acquired defenseman Pete Ollari and forward Nigel Hawryliw in the UHL Waiver Draft. The pair will join the Mallards to participate in the 2006 Colonial Cup Playoffs.
Ollari played 64 games this season for the Adirondack Frostbite. During his time in upstate New York, Ollari recorded two goals with eight assists for 10 points. He also racked up 30 penalty minutes with the Frostbite.
Last year, during his first full pro campaign, Ollari played 41 games for the Danbury Trashers. He recorded one assist during his stint as a Trasher. Prior to coming to the UHL, the Agawam, Massachusetts native played 11 games for the ECHL's Toledo Storm during the 2003-04 season. He was held scoreless during his ECHL stint but did record two penalty minutes. Ollari's amateur career included four seasons at the State University of New York (SUNY)-Plattsburgh. He appeared in 111 collegiate games recording 31 goals with 49 assists for 80 points. To make room for Ollari on the post-season roster, the team released defenseman Dan Pszenyczny.
Hawryliw joins the Mallards after appearing in 26 games this season with the Muskegon Fury. The Muskegon native recorded two points this season on a pair of goals. Over two seasons with his hometown squad, Hawryliw has appeared in 56 games while scoring four goals with two assists for six points.
The Mallards begin the 2006 Colonial Cup Playoffs Presented by Galaxy One Marketing on Friday night in Danbury, Connecticut. Quad City will be facing the UHL's third best regular season squad, the Danbury Trashers. Game time on Friday is 6:30 p.m. central time. Mallards fans can catch all the action live via the b2 Networks at The Lodge in Bettendorf. Game Two of the Quarterfinal Series will air at The Lodge as well beginning at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. Admission is $3 per person for each game.
The opening round series comes to The MARK on Wednesday, April 26th for Game Three. Start time is 7:00 p.m. Individual tickets for all Mallards playoff games are available to the public beginning on Wednesday. Tickets are available at The MARK box office or via Ticketmaster (563-326-1111 or ticketmaster.com). Mallards season ticket holders can pick up their playoff tickets now at The MARK box office. Additional individual tickets for season ticket holders are available now exclusively at The MARK box office.
All games in the Mallards series vs. Danbury can be heard on Fox Sports Radio AM 1230 beginning 25 minutes before face-off with the Maroon Mortgage Pre-Game Show.
