
Kalamazoo's Jason Deitsch named Easton UHL Rookie of the Month

LAKE ST. LOUIS, MO--- The United Hockey League (UHL) announced Tuesday that Kalamazoo Wings center Jason Deitsch has been named Easton UHL Rookie of the Month for April.
Deitsch finished the month with 14 points (4g, 10a) and a plus-5 rating in eight games played. He had a point in seven of the eight games and had five multi-point games. He had his 13-game point streak snapped on the final day of the regular season. He netted two goals, including the game-winner, in the 5-2 win vs. Missouri on April 14th to help the Kalamazoo Wings clinch their first Tarry Cup Championship in team history. The 25-year-old Cincinnati, Ohio native led his team in scoring and ranked first among all UHL rookies with 87 points (38g, 49a). He was also the UHL Rookie of the Month for February.
Other players nominated for the Easton UHL Rookie of the Month include: Adirondack center Mark Hurtubise, Danbury defenseman Donny Grover, Elmira left wing Jarrett Konkle, Flint goaltender Eric Marvin, Fort Wayne right wing Jamie Milam, Missouri goaltender Corey Wogtech, Motor City forward Peter Szabo, Muskegon left wing David Wrigley, Quad City forward Matt Radoslovich, Richmond forward Todd Grant, Roanoke left wing Mike Wiggins, and Rockford center Steve Yetman.
The 2005-06 season is the first year that the Easton UHL Rookie of the Month is being awarded. It recognizes the performance of players who have played in 60 or fewer professional games and goaltenders who have played 3,600 or fewer professional minutes prior to this season.
