Majors Take 3-1 Series Lead with 6-1 Win Over IceDogs

Johnson Andrews scored Niagara's lone goal as the team suffered a 6-1 loss to the Mississauga Majors Monday night at the Gatorade Garden City Complex.

Mississauga now has a 3-1 series lead heading into Game 5 back in Mississauga Tuesday night.

The Majors opened the scoring just under six minutes into the first as Joseph Cramarossa walked into the IceDogs zone and ripped a shot past Mark Visentin from the left side to give his team a 1-0 lead.

Later in the period, Ryan Strome and Justin Shugg were sent off for off-setting minor penalties, and the play was brought to 4-on-4.

With only a few seconds left in the coincidentals, Johnson Andrews made an stellar play to tip the puck in from the right wing after Dougie Hamilton let the initial shot go from the point to tie the game 1-1.

David Pacan, who has really stepped up his play for the 'Dogs in this series, also picked up an assists on the play.

The dying minutes of the frame were scoreless and the two teams skating into their respective dressing rooms in a 1-1 tie after 20 minutes.

Devante Smith-Pelly continued to produce for the Majors as he notched his sixth of the playoffs 28 seconds into a power play that came due to a Dougie Hamilton roughing call at the 5:10 mark of the second.

Mississauga then found themselves down a man shortly after, but didn't let it bother their offensive play as Joseph Cramarossa scored his second of the night on a breakaway while shorthanded to increase the Majors lead to 3-1.

The momentum continued to go the way of the Majors as they managed to score two more quick goals in the latter half of the second to give them a 5-1 lead after 40 minutes of play.

Coach Marty Williamson opted to make a goaltending chance to start the third, putting Dalton McGrath in and giving Mark Visentin the rest of the night off.

The first half of period three was scoreless, with both teams exchanging minor penalties and a few scoring chances respectively.

With a flurry of penalties being handed out late in the third, the Majors were able to convert once again to give the game a score of 6-1.

Game 5 of the Rogers OHL Eastern Conference Championships will take place tomorrow night at 7 p.m. at the Hershey Centre.
