Mississauga St. Michael's Majors News Release

Toronto, Ont. (September 12, 2006) - The St. Michael's Majors are pleased to announce that they have signed their fourth player from the most recent OHL draft, forward Tyler Allen. The winger was chosen in the 3rd round (50th overall) of May's Priority Selection. He joins fellow draftees Chris Carrozzi, Dylan O'Neil and Tim Billingsley on this year's squad.

Allen enjoyed a tremendous 2005-06 season with the Toronto Marlboros Minor Midget AAA squad, collecting 46 points in 50 games and helping the team reach the prestigious OHL Cup. The Mississauga native has carried over his strong play to the Majors, looking very comfortable in all four of the team's exhibition games.

"Tyler has effectively made the transition to the OHL," stated Bud Stefanski, Majors Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations. "With his speed and puckhandling ability, he should be an exciting forward for this team in the coming years."

The Majors visit Peterborough on Thursday evening (September 14) at 7 pm. Then, they return home to host the Oshawa Generals on Sunday afternoon (September 17) at 2 pm in their final exhibition game. Tickets for the latter game are only $5 and can be purchased at the door or in the team's head office during regular business hours. Both games will be audiocast at www.stmichaelsmajors.com.
