Majors Set to Open Camp

Mississauga, ON - The Mississauga St. Michael's Majors are pleased to announce their annual training camp schedule as they prepare for the 2008-09 season. The five-day camp will be held at the Hershey Centre beginning on Wednesday, August 27, and it will conclude on Sunday, August 31.

Over 40 players have been invited to the Majors training camp, and they will be arriving on Wednesday (August 27) for fitness testing and physicals throughout the day. Then, dryland training and scrimmage sessions are scheduled to commence the following day, and will continue through the final day of camp.

For fans who would like to catch a glimpse of players in training camp action, each scrimmage session will be open to public from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., Thursday (August 28) to Sunday (August 31) only, at Hershey Centre's Community Rink #2. Please be advised that the times listed above are subject to last-minute change. If you are planning to attend, please call in advance by contacting the Majors office at 905-502-7788 ext. 235.

The Majors regular season kicks off on the road when they visit the Barrie Colts on Thursday, September 18 at 7:30 p.m. Their home opener will take place on Friday,October 3 at 7:30 p.m. as they face-off against the Niagara IceDogs.
