Lewiston MAINEiacs News Release
LEWISTON, ME- With less than twenty four hours remaining in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League trade period, the Lewiston MAINEiacs traded defensemen =C9ric Gélinas and Stephen Woodworth along with a fifth round pick in 2010 to the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles for Ian Saab Zachary Evans Renaud and a second round pick in the 2012 QMJHL Entry Draft.
Gelinas (Pictured), was drafted by the New Jersey Devils in the second-round of the 2009 QMJHL Entry Draft. In 19 games this season, Gelinas posted three goals and 16 assists. Last season, he registered 39 points in 67 games played.
Woodworth, was drafted by Lewiston in the fourth-round of the 2009 QMJHL Entry Draft. He appeared in five games for the MAINEiacs this season posting zero points and six penalty minutes.
The QMJHL trade deadline ends at noon Thursday. Lewiston returns to action on Thursday and Friday at the Androscoggin Bank Colisee. Game times are set for 7:00 p.m.
