MAINEiacs Tie Series at One All

The Lewiston MAINEiacs took game two in their best-of-seven series against the Montreal Juniors by a 6 to 2 score, tying the series at one.

In the first period, Charles-Olivier Roussel opened the scoring for Montreal with his first of the post season. Olivier Dame-Malka would get the goal back for Lewiston by scoring his third of the playoffs, sending the teams back to the locker room tied at one.

In the second period, it was Jérémy Gouchie's turn to give the Juniors' the lead, notching his third of the playoffs. But once more, Dame-Malka brought the teams back to square one before the end of the frame, this time with his fourth of the post-season.

In the third period, the MAINEiacs took control of the game, scoring four unanswered goals. Olivier Dame-Malka found the back of the net twice more, his fifth and sixth of the playoffs, followed by Pierre-Olivier Morin's second of the post-season and Antoine Houde-Caron's first of the playoffs into an empty net.

Lewiston's Samuel Carrier picked up three assists.

Lewiston goaltender Nicholas Champion turned aside 32 of the 34 shots he faced, while Montreal's Jean-François Bérubé stopped 28 of the 33 pucks fired his way. Olivier Dame-Malka (LEW), Nicholas Champion (LEW) and Kirill Kabanov (LEW) were respectively named first, second and third stars of the game.

The series now shifts to Lewiston as game three will take place on Tuesday, April 19th at 7:05pm.
