DANVILLE, VA - For the first time this season fans can welcome home their 2009 Danville Braves on Monday for the home opener. The team will be coming off a season-opening six-game road trip and the Braves have some incentives for all fans to come out on opening night and for this entire six-game homestand (June 29 - July 4) to welcome the team back to Danville for the 2009 season.
The fun starts Monday night with a 7 p.m. first pitch against the Kingsport Mets, who come in for a three-game series. The first 1,000 fans into the ballpark will receive a magnet schedule. Gates open at 6 p.m., so get to the park early, get your magnet schedule, grab a beverage and a hot dog, and find your seat to watch the Braves take on the Mets
On Tuesday, you can get your Buy-one, get-one tickets with the KRAFT Singles Tuesday Tickets promotion. Just bring a KRAFT Singles wrapper to the ballpark box office for a steal of a deal. Buy One Ticket Get One Free from KRAFT Singles! Visit kraftsingles.com for details.
Wednesday closes out the series with the Mets with the Sylvan Learning Center Hit the Books! Night. Students were given a bookmark to track their progress on reading four books. Thursday ushers in the first Thirsty Thursday of the season as the Princeton Rays visit Legion Field to start a three-game series. Fans can purchase 14 oz. beer for just $1.50 and fountain sodas are two-for-one.
The Braves will celebrate Independence Day a little early on Friday, July 3 with their annual Fireworks show. Fans are encouraged to get to the ballpark right when the gates open at 6 p.m. as the 29th Army Infantry Band will perform as soon as they open.
Saturday, July 4 is Military Appreciation Night at the ballpark as all members of the military get a general admission ticket for just $1 with a valid military ID.
The Braves will have plenty to offer fans at Dan Daniel Memorial Park on this upcoming homestand and throughout the 2009 season as the least expensive entertainment in town, so come on out to the ballpark and watch the Braves compete for their fifth Appalachian League East Division title in the last six years.
