
Magic Earn First Win of the Season

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas---- Billy Garza threw for 265 yards and seven scores toÃÂ lead the Magic to a 74-67 win Monday over the Corpus ChristiÃÂ Hammerheads. Malcolm Williams also caught four TD passes and threw for a score to lead RGV.
With the win the Magic improve to 1-1. They play on the road at West Texas on April 21st.The Magic got board early in the first quarter when Antwan Cobb score on a one yard touchdown and Leo Araguz added the extra-point for a 7-0.
After trading touchdowns throughout the first half, the Magic took a half time lead of 48-41 with a touchdown pass from Garza to Williams.
During the second half the Magic were able to capitalize on the turnovers committed by the Hammerheads which allowed Rio Grande to take the lead for good.
The Magic will continue their inaugural season in the Lone Star Football League on the road against the West Texas Roughnecks on Saturday night April 21, 2012 at the Ector County Coliseum in Odessa with the kickoff set for 7:15 p.m. It's the second of three straight road games for the Magic. The Magic will have their next home game on Saturday May 5, 2012 as they will host the Amarillo Venom at the State Farm Arena. The Magic are members of the Lone Star Football League, an independent league of seven professional indoor football teams located in Texas that include Amarillo, Corpus Christi, Laredo, Odessa, Abilene, and Houston.
