Araguz Sends Magic into Post-Season

ABILENE, Texas ---- the Rio Grande Valley Magic came back from an eight-point deficit in the fourth quarter to defeat the Abilene Ruff Riders 38-37 on Saturday night at the Taylor County Expo Center.

Leo Araguz made a 31-yard field goal as time expired in regulation to give the RGV Magic the victory as they trailed by two points.

The Magic were trailing at halftime by four, when they decided to pull out some trick plays out of the bag as Antwan Cobb was found wide open on the receiving end of flea flicker from Billy Garza which gave the Magic a 23-19 lead.

Abilene would score on their next possession to take a 25-23 lead and shortly after added the two point conversion to make it a 27-23 in favor of the Ruff Riders.

Garza ended the game with 217 yards passing with two touchdowns and one interception on 18-of-35 passing.

With the win, the Magic improve to 6-6 in the season with a berth in the playoffs, and with the win, they will start playoffs on the road for a second straight season. Their opponent will be determined by the results of other game in the league, as they know for sure they will be the road team.
