HIDALGO, Texas---- The Rio Grande Valley Magic could not stop the Laredo Rattlesnakes as they fell 69-52 on Saturday night at the State Farm Arena.
The Rattlesnakes got the scoring started as DePhilip Harris took the handoff into the end zone for the first score of the game. The Magic got the next possession and turned it over on down and provided the 'Snakes another easy opportunity to score again.
Jerome Harris caught a deep ball from Matt Jeffers for another score and Laredo never looked back as they took care of the Magic turnover on downs.
Matt Jeffers threw for 215 yards with five touchdown and no interceptions for the game. Josh Crawford had 124 receiving yards with three touchdowns.
The Magic had seven turnovers, three of them in the first half that were costly, as they could not recover from a 30-19 deficit at the intermission.
With the loss, the Magic fall to 5-6 in the season with possibility of missing the post-season, and with the win, the Rattlesnakes improve to 6-4 in the season while clinching a share of first place with Amarillo.
The Magic will close out their inaugural season in the Lone Star Football League on the road versus the Abilene Ruff Riders at the Taylor Expo County Center with kickoff set for 7:05 p.m. Season and individual tickets are available by calling (956) 905-5401 or visiting a ticket master outlet.
