Lawton-Fort Sill Cavalry News Release

LAWTON, OKLA- Chairman/Majority Owner Baron Hopgood announced today KMGZ 95.3 FM, known locally as Magic 95, as the official radio station of the Oklahoma Cavalry professional CBA basketball team for the 2007-08 inaugural season.

"We are extremely pleased to have Magic 95 on board as our official radio station," Hopgood said. "We look forward to working with them this season and hope to build a long-lasting relationship."

Magic 95 will broadcast all 48 games this season with Chris Needham, the voice of the Cavs, providing the play-by-play action. A 15-minute pre-game and post-game show will also be aired for each game. The pre-game show will begin 15 minutes prior to tip-off and will include an interview with Head Coach Michael Ray Richardson.

Chuck Morgan, Magic 95 president and general manager, said he is looking forward to a great season with the team as the flagship station.

"We are very excited about the Cavs playing in Lawton, and especially about our partnership with the team to broadcast all their games," Morgan said. "The Cavs are just the latest example of how the Lawton-Fort Sill community is growing, and we are proud to be a part of the continuing progress."

The Voice of the Cavs, Chris Needham also said he is ecstatic about Magic 95 coming on board and can not wait to work with such a professional station.

"From the get-go, Magic 95 has been incredibly helpful," Needham said. "They have bent over backwards asking how they can help us, and are willing to do whatever it takes to make this successful. This has been the reaction of everyone here in Lawton, and I'm excited to be a part of it."

The first game broadcast will be Nov. 17 at Rio Grande Valley, Texas with tip-off at 7:35 p.m. The Cavs will then return to Lawton Nov. 20 for their home opener against the East Kentucky Miners at the Great Plains Coliseum with a 7:30 p.m. tip-off.

Tickets are still available and can be purchased by calling 580-353-CAVS (2287).
